Madame Tussauds, the famous waxworks museum, opens in Shanghai at the sixth branch in the world, joining the rank of London, New York, Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Amsterdam.

Madame Tussauds was a French artist who was famous for her vivid wax modeling. In 1835, she settled into a permanent home for exhibition of life-size was figures in the Bazaar, Baker Street, London.

Madame Tussauds Shanghai, the sixth branch in the world, displays the waxworks of foreign celebrities such as Princess Diana, Bill Gates, David Beckham, Tom Cruise, and great historical figures like Albert Einstein as well as contemporary Chinese figures such as the state’s first cosmonaut Yang Liwei, Nobel Prize winner Yang Zhengning, Olympic champion Liu Xiang and popular stars line Yao Ming, Andy Lau, Jay Chou and Jackie Chan.
